Saturday, July 4, 2009- 12:00 noon
Start: Mauldin Meadow Finish: Mauldin Meadow
Course: Approximately 10 very fast and scenic miles. South on FS37, West on FS 922, North on Womble Trail back to Mauldin Meadow. Click Here to view the Course Map.
This event is open to anyone willing to race a single speed, tandem, recumbent, or unicycle on the Womble Trail or anyone weighing over 200 pounds (yes, we do weight in) and wishing to test himself against other BIG guys. Racers MUST be registered for Sunday’s AMBCS points race in order to enter. Two (2) races for the price of one! Winners get a nice crystal trophy and the bragging rights to the “Best in the Universe”.
This Saturday race will have a category for all single speeds, a category for Clydesdale, a category for tandem, a category for recumbent and a category for unicycles. A mass start of all racers is planned for this Saturday race but may not be possible if the field is too large.
DUE TO THE UNUSUAL NATURE OF THIS EVENT, the categories “single speed” and “Clydesdale” which are regular AMBCS contested categories must race on Sunday also for AMBCS points. The Sunday finish will be for AMBCS points!! This is an opportunity for racers in the “geared” categories to jump on a “single speed”, race against those “crazy guys”, kick butt, and still race with your “normal” group on Sunday for AMBCS points.

This is the Womble Trail that we all love with a little different twist for the race. Race will go north to south for a change and both sides of the river for viewing by those taking the time to look. This will be one of the prettiest race venues ever and due to its “unique” nature we encourage racers to pre-ride the course before the event. This is a point to point race starting at Highway 88 for cat 1 and cat 2, racing south to Mauldin Meadow and cat 3 riders will start at 27 Fishing Village and also finish at Mauldin Meadow. GET A RIDE/GIVE A RIDE- Race management will be providing a shuttle to the start area before the race and after the race to retrieve vehicles. You can help with this process by GIVING A RIDE to the start to other racers and GETTING A RIDE back to the start area to retrieve your vehicle after the race.
